Zoom-Lesson “Self-portrait in “Manga” Style. Lesson #2” for children from 8 years old.

During 2 lessons, we will get to know the popular among teen-agers trend in drawing called “Manga”. We will learn about specific of drawing people in this style and each student will create their own unique portrait in the “Manga” style.

The second lesson will be dedicated to the drawing a self-portrait itself by each student.

Depending on the student’s desire, we will colour the drawing or leave it in black and white.

Art supplies for this lesson:

– A4 white heavy paper

– lead pencils of different softness: as a minimum – HB and 2B (or B with a higher number, e.g., 4В, 6В, 8В, etc.)

– colour pencils – optional

– rubber, sharpener

– table mirror

Art supplies for all Zoom-lessons in April – June 2021 (for children from 8 y.o.):

– A3 and A4 white heavy paper

– A3 black heavy paper (if there is no black sheet, a white one can be painted in black beforehand and dried up)

– thin black permanent marker / liner

– watercolour

– acrylic or gouache paint

– palette for acrylic / gouache paint (a one-time use plastic tray for some food would suit as well)

– salt in a jar (usually used for food)

– lead pencils of different softness: as a minimum – HB and 2B (or B with a higher number, e.g., 4В, 6В, 8В, etc.)

– colour pencils for a portrait in the “Manga” style – optional

– rubber, sharpener

– table mirror

– round soft brushes of different thickness

– water in a jar

– hair dryer

– wet wipes, paper towels
