
ABOUT THIS COURSE
This course is entirely dedicated to light in all its manifestations. We will create 8 bright works filled with light, in various techniques and with various materials.
We will learn how to depict light in art works.
We will learn about:
– what is chiaroscuro
– the difference in light at different times of the day (morning, afternoon, evening, night)
– how shadows from various objects fall on surfaces
– how to depict the flame of fire and rays of the sun
– reflection of light in glossy surfaces
– features of depicting light in the midday sun and pitch-black night
Each work, as usual, is a finished masterpiece!
Participation in the course will open up new knowledge about light in drawing and painting, teach new techniques, give the opportunity to master new art materials, and develop imagination.
The course is conducted interactively, via the Zoom video communication program. It includes 9 lessons held weekly from May 1 to June 26, 2025.

Attention!
Due to the holidays in different states start at different times, I take average dates of the beginning and end of the course. If any of the lessons of the course fall on your school holidays, and you will not be able to attend for this reason, then I will provide an opportunity to do the lesson using a recording of the session.

FOR WHOM THIS COURSE
This course is great for older kids. Recommended age is 8 to 15 years old, but it is individual. Since the format is family-friendly, this means that other family members can participate for free, although without feedback. It turns out that the course is for all aspiring artists in your family.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
In this course, we will get acquainted with various genres of painting through theory and practice. Thanks to bright and clear presentations, the children will touch the history of art, and learn from classical examples what different paintings look like in various painting genres.
Students will learn to create paintings in various genres with all kinds of materials, in different techniques and styles.
In the course, the children will create 8 original works in A3 format.
MATERIALS FOR THIS COURSE
– white sheets of thick quality paper or cardboard A3 – 5 pieces
– black thick sheets A3 – 3 pieces
– lead pencil, eraser
– watercolor paints
– gouache paints or acrylic paints
– dry pastels (minimum 12 colors)
– white palette: any plastic or porcelain surface of white color. In extreme cases, you can use pieces of white thick paper as a palette.
– brushes of different sizes; make sure that there is one extremely thin quality brush for small details
– paper towel
– hair dryer
